Yes, it was in my blood at an early age – cutting grass and the Reds

Paver patio project completed this summer at a residence in Loveland, OH. Pavers created a great extension, added entertainment area, and transition from the existing wood deck to the pool.

As some of you may know I dabble in various woodworking hobbies during the “off season” or rather this year its been inbetween snow events. This is some of the work I have done this winter. Pens, pencils, keychains, letter openers can be turned out of anything from plain old oak to laminates, as seen on the left, to wildly colored acrylic. If you are interested in one of these unique gifts give me a call and we can talk about the possibilities.

One of the newest creations from the Lawn Butlers Wood Shop. These glass confetti lamps which can be filled with any number of burning oils are encased in turned banksia nuts. These nuts come from highly inflourescent trees in the remote deserts of Western Australia. These nuts are extremely hard and the oblong holes extend well into the nut. The combination of the voids, shiny, and at times furry texture creates a beautifully unique turning. They are not difficult to turn but they do make quite a mess and you just about need full body armor while turning them. The shell like material in the oblong holes can serve as projectiles for your hands and face. These nuts are not limited to candles but they are cylindrical. Definitely an exciting find for the Lawn Butlers Woodshop collection.

Rob accompanied Milford Boy Scout Troop 468 to Torrent Falls in Natural Bridge State Park in the great state of Kentucky. Rob, his son, and the rest of the boy scouts had a blast camping, rappelling, and Via Ferrata climbing. You can look them up on the web at www.torrentfalls.com. If climbing and being up high give you a thrill then this is the place to go. When you are repelling the phrase “leap of faith ” certainly comes to mind. This picture shows Rob hanging out about 80’ above the next ledge and about 150’ above where he parked his truck. If you would like to see other pictures or hear more about our experience drop us a line or give us a call. Life is short – get out there and experience it.

Lawn Butlers recently completed this backyard project that includes a paver patio, firepit, waterfall, pond, gazebo, and bridge. We used over 6 tons of pavers and around 13 tons of rock. You can see a larger version of this as well as other pictures on our “pictures” page. The happy owners call it their backyard oasis.
